Andrés García-Silva is a postdoctoral researcher at Ontology Engineering Group of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He received his PhD and Master degrees in artificial intelligence from the UPM in 2013 and 2008 respectively.
His research interest is focused on the Semantic Web, Social Networks and Content Analytics using techniques from research areas such as natural language processing, information retrieval, and ontologies. He has participated in research projects funded by the European Commission and the Spanish government, and has extensive experience in software development projects within the domains of utilities, telecommunications, and business to business e-commerce.
The Spanish ministry of education and science granted him a 4 year scholarship for carrying out his PhD studies, and the UPM and Santander Bank granted him a scholarship for his master studies. He has been a visiting researcher at University of Sourthern California, Free University of Berlin, and Southampton University. Finally, he has published in international conferences and journals and regularly reviews papers for workshops, conferences, and journals.
